Job Description

A Technical Project Manager’s primary responsibilities consist of planning and managing the development of one or more projects throughout, and at different points in their life-cycles. To do this successfully, the right candidate will be comfortable discussing technical details while remaining focused on the big picture, creatively solving problems, and communicating effectively across multiple teams with varied levels of influence and technical knowledge.

All team members are on-call periodically to respond to any emergency web site outages.

Job Responsibilities

*Create and manage cross-team project plan(s) for major initiatives.

*Manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.

*Proactively work with internal and external teams to establish and document project goals and requirements.

*Anticipate risks to project scope/quality and work to mitigate those risks.

*Identify bottlenecks and dependencies, and unblock teams for execution.

*Identify key data and leverage that data to make decisions and measure success.

*Maintain in-depth knowledge of the underlying architecture utilized by project teams.

*Run appropriate agile processes through project lifecycle.

*Get up to speed quickly on a variety of technical subject matter as needed.

*Assemble and publish effective status reports able to serve a variety of audiences with varying levels of influence and technical knowledge.

*Do all the above whilst incorporating lightweight processes built for agility and transparency.


*Must have at least 2 years of experience deliverying highly scalable services in AWS

*2-4 years experience working as a Tech PM on agile software development projects.

*3-5 years experience in a technical role on software development projects (developer, tester, engineer, etc).

*Experience in the Scrum Master role.

*Working knowledge of modern web technologies; their underlying technical design & protocols, security, deployment, and testing methodologies.

*Experience with SDLC and Agile/Scrum development processes and practices.

*Demonstrated ability to perform effectively and positively in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous, team-oriented environment.

*Ability to align, influence and drive results without formal authority.

*Excellent written and verbal communication around tracking and summarizing development progress.

Required Experience

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering / related field or comparable work experience.

PMP, Scrum or Agile Certification is a bonus.
