Operating from a 360,000 sqft., fully automated distribution center in Southern California, our client is a 2 billion dollar organization that is moving from a monolithic design to a micro-services architecture. We are currently seeking a FULLY REMOTE Software Development Manager to manage a team of 12 people state-side and off-shore. The team is comprised of Principal level SWD, Sr. SWD, all the way to Jr. SWE's. Job Description

As a Manager of Software Development, you will be responsible for creating a framework and structure to quickly grow your team and scale the software development processes to deliver complex projects quickly and with high quality. You will provide technical leadership, vision, direction, and mentoring for multiple software engineering teams within the companies Supply Chain Solutions.

Job Responsibilities

- Responsible for resource planning, estimation, and delivery of projects and products
- Responsible for building, mentoring and coaching high performing teams
- Responsible for performance management of their team members (quarterly feedback)
performance, set expectations and goals for staff members
- Manage and execute software development projects from beginning to finish
- Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes along with best practices for delivery of scalable and high
quality software
- Must be able to mentor all levels
- Work closely with the other teams to optimize system architecture and project efficiency
- Partner with our Product Owner to plan work and prioritization
- Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery
- Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship
- Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
- Provide regular updates on projects and team performance
- Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
- Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on time and on budget

- Ability to inspire team and a salesman of ideas
- Experience in building teams, hiring, firing, coaching and motivating staff
- Experience leading multiple teams, on-site/remote (10+ reports)
- Proficient with Object-oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD)
- Strong knowledge of system architecture, best practices and design patterns
- Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes
- Strong knowledge and experience in MicroServices, SOA and n-tier architectures
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment
- Expert in project management methodologies and frameworks such as Kanban, Scrum or Agile
- Writes and implements quality procedures

Required Experience

- Must have relevant Software Management Experience (currently software manager at a company for a long time)
- Has been with a company for a long time with good tenure
- Requires a minimum of two years of management experience
- Requires a minimum of five to ten years of experience with software development, design patterns, software architecture

Required Education

- Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Computer Science/Engineering or related field is preferred
