Job Description



As part of the Technology division – End User Services team, you will play a key role in driving the vision for the future of education. The team is responsible over solutions and support of all end user facing technologies, including hardware, desktop images, software delivery, patch management, asset management, client virtualization, collaboration services, end-to-end support, vendor management, and other activities related to internal and external (students) customers.

The Senior System Engineer position requires excellent communication, technical, and leadership skills. The role demands an individual with strong technical ability and proven experience in delivering solutions with value for the business. The position entails client computing design, development, and implementation of architecture best-practices across the University.

Proven broad level of knowledge of enterprise technologies such as Microsoft, Linux, and Mac OS X operating systems, virtualization, systems infrastructure, networking, security, storage, and client computing are required. The position represents the highest degree of technical architecture and design expertise within the client computing technologies, process, and integration solutions.


Job Responsibilities



o Design, engineering, support, maintenance and administration of ServiceNow
o Monitor ServiceNow health and compliance with contract/licensing
o Design and implement end user service catalog and applications
o Identify deficiencies and provide solutions
o Problem solving, communication, presentation skills
o Business analysis of end users’ functional and technical requirements
o Client computing technologies design, engineering, and client virtualization
o End user policies, configurations, and environment changes related to physical and virtual client technologies
o The position will be responsible ServiceNow support, resolving escalated and technically complex trouble tickets assigned by the customer service center in a timely and efficient manner.
o Environment includes Microsoft Azure, Intune, Windows Server, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Windows Server Update Services and Microsoft SQL Server.
o Troubleshoot software installations and upgrades related to ServiceNow platform. Schedules installation and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
o Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
o Develops and promotes standard operating procedures and conducts routine hardware and software audits for services to ensure compliance with established standards, policies and configuration guidelines.
o May provide direction and guidance to lesser-experienced systems administration staff to assist them in their role and understanding of more complex systems administration.
o Monitor, review, evaluate, recommend and implement support procedures, techniques and adopt tools to achieve maximum quality, continuous service improvement and value for money.
o Assist in providing end user access and authorization to various systems to maintain the appropriate security measures, train end users in the use of software, hardware or other systems.


Experience



o Certified ServiceNow Systems Administrator (basics, management, config & implementation)
o Certified ServiceNow Application Developer (design and manage applications)
o Certified ServiceNow Implementation Specialist (implement the platform, service mapping, financial mgmt, service mgmt, vulnerability response, HR, security and customer service mgmt).
o Microsoft Certified Architect (MCA), Microsoft Certified Master (MCM), Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
o Knowledge and proven skill with large, complex infrastructure environments required. Additionally, a thorough knowledge and proficient skill with hardware required for connectivity and installation operations as described above.
o Foundation or intermediate certification in ITIL 4, COBIT 5, or other ITSM certification
o Master’s degree in computer engineering or similar field
o Very good understanding of IT Service provision in a medium to large organization and its impact on a wide and diverse user base
o Experience with IT Service Management/Help Desk systems


Required Experience



o Comfortable working with stakeholders to gather requirements
o Organization and time management skills
o Expert knowledge of ServiceNow best practices and industry standards
o Expert knowledge of JavaScript and other programming languages
o Knowledge of ServiceNow's Glide System API
o Knowledge of UI, SQL, HTML, CSS, Angular JS, PowerShell
o Knowledge of XML and structural programming concepts
o Experience with Business Rules Script including UI Actions, Scheduled Jobs, Workflows and Flow Designer
o Understanding of SOAP, REST SSO-SAML and integration with other platforms
o Familiarity with Studio Developer
o Knowledge of ITIL 4.0 framework
o Experience with Incident Management, CMDB, Knowledge Management, ITSM, SCCM, SAM and HAM modules
o Expert knowledge of core architecture, technologies, and solution from ServiceNow and similar products
o Expert knowledge in troubleshooting application, session connectivity, policy, profile, end user environment
o Solid understanding of infrastructure management, monitoring and security best practices.

TRAVEL: Limited travel may be required within the Phoenix metro area


Required Education



o Master’s degree in computer engineering or similar field
