Job Description



The Oracle Database Administrator will perform engineering and administration for multiple production databases, and will be responsible for fast-paced, complex distributed database environments supporting both OLTP and OLAP systems across multiple platforms.

Job Responsibilities



** Create unique approaches and solutions to recurring tasks or problems.

** Remain up-to-date on industry trends and new technologies and suggest future initiatives.

** Ability to translate complex technical concepts into everyday vernacular for people to comprehend.

** Manage small projects focused on Infrastructure, from inception to deployment.

** Understanding of all supporting infrastructure components, including operating systems, storage/hardware configuration, and networks.


Experience





Required Experience



** Minimum of 5 years supporting Oracle RDBMS.

** Prior exposure and familiarity with automation tools.

** Knowledge of software development methodologies and practices.

** Automation/scripting skills.

** Superb communication skills.

** Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels from potential customers to senior executives.

** Ability to prioritize and multi-task.

** High quality organizational skills.

** Prior experience with database reorganization, migration, capacity planning, disaster recovery and high-availability.

** Detailed experience and knowledge of Linux operating systems and kernels.


Required Education



** BS/MS Preferred, Some College Is Acceptable.
