Job Description



Seeking a QA Leader to set the overall direction and vision of product quality for the company. You will be responsible and accountable for the overall quality and risk assessment of our products.

You’ll bring to the role a passion for building in quality from the inception of a project or enhancement through to release and successful customer adoption.

You will bring your battle proven experience in QA methodologies across a variety of product domains and various product delivery mechanisms including enterprise software and SaaS to the role.

You will serve as the principle evangelist for quality within the product organization and across departments. You will lead, manage, motivate, and grow a global talented team of QA engineers. Working in a scrum environment you will collaborate with product managers, directors, managers, software engineers and data center operations engineers in the creation of products.


Job Responsibilities



*Set the overall product quality direction & vision for the Company.
*Be a champion of the customer and advocate for QA throughout the organization
*Be a change agent in evolving our agile development process.
*Establish and implement best practices for quality assurance processes.
*Establish a culture of continuous improvement.
*Become a subject matter expert in our products.
*Expand and instill an “automation first” testing strategy.
*Manage test strategies and testing in a complex multi-product and multi-release environment.
*Participate in cross-functional release and roadmap planning.
*Work closely with Support to understand and champion the resolution of customer production issues.
*Retain, attract, and hire across a global multi-site QA department.
*Manage the QA budget, vendor relationships, and overall testing infrastructure and its evolution.


Experience



Huge Plus:
*Direct experience with QA of software that utilizes Map-reduce, Hadoop, Spark, HBase or other Big Data technology.
*Knowledge of Data Warehouse-related components (Sourcing, ETL, Data Modeling, OLAP, BI, Reporting).
*Experience in both small and large companies.
*Experience as the top leader of QA with overall QA responsibility in the company
*Familiarity with Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
*Experience in transitioning an organization from waterfall to agile scrum.


Required Experience



*At least 6 years’ experience in QA management with at least 2-years as a Director (2nd level management) or previous.
overall responsibility for QA at a SaaS company or consumer destination site
*Current experience managing senior individual contributors as well as managers
*Experience with distributed, local and offshore, QA management.
*Proven track record of retaining and hiring personnel and building a scalable QA organization.
*Familiarity with “DevOps” and enough experience or curiosity to participate in a cultural change.
*Solid problem solving skills with a demonstrated ability to make critical decisions in a timely fashion.
*Proven experience in SQA methodologies, techniques and approaches specifically related to highly scalable web-based. applications.
*Previous leadership and management of all forms of testing (white box, black box, functional, load, regression, sanity,performance, manual, automated) with career depth in at least one and the ability to lead by example.
*Good understanding of applicable automation tools and frameworks
*Experienced in selecting tools, both commercial and open source, to be used within QA and across engineering.
*Solid understanding of release management in a SaaS environment as well as tools that support the process.
*Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills
*Able to work closely with product management, support, development, and operations in assessing risk and options.
*Self-starter that is results focused with the ability to work independently and in teams
*Ability to balance tactical delivery with strategic vision to advance towards business-driven,time critical objectives.


Required Education



*B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other technical field
